Camp 2 at 11,000 ft

A view looking up at the West Buttress and Camp 2 from about 10,500 feet.

The weather has changed on Denali. The crew is settled in to their camp at 11,ooo now, as the clouds and snow(and smoke from forest fires) have moved into the Alaska Range. They hope to be able to stay on schedule, which means spending 3 nights at this camp before moving up to 14,000ft. We hope to hear from them later today and see if this weather is going to hold them up at all. We'll let you know if we hear anything new later today.

I pray for good weather for you and your fellow companions. Stay strong babe, you know good things come to those who wait. I hiked Mt. Moosilauke today with Shannan. The winds at the top were 60 mph! The temp felt alot colder than it actually was b/c of the wind- temp 40 degrees. I could see my breath when i spoke to Shannan. We got some good pics. I'd like to climb that mountain with you in the winter. Beautiful views on Mt. Moosilauke. I miss you tons- there's not a day that goes by I don't think about you. I wish you were with me today at the summit of Moosilauke. I got the postcard- brought a smile to my face. His name will be Denali. Love you!

**To everyone else, keep your heads up- this weather will subside I do not doubt that for a minute. If you do wind up staying at camp for a day or two- use it as a great recouperation day- there is a reason why it would snow**
